To further strengthen our Operations department, we are seeking a Site Supervisor (Mechanical) who will be reporting technically to the Operations Manager and administratively to the Country General Manager.
Your tasks
- CAD design & drafting: Create, modify, and update detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for industrial refrigeration systems, including piping, equipment layout, and electrical schematics
- Supervise mechanical workers, semi-skilled workers, assistants, and general workers (trade helpers) in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical systems
- Comply with all special safety instructions issued by GRADE and adhere to all company policies, standard procedures, and standard operating procedures
- Comply with all client requirements, legislation, and regulations and design and implement work schedules for mechanical staff while providing motivation and support when required
- Inspect and assess work carried out by mechanical staff
- Read and interpret design schematics to ensure proper installation of mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot major system failures and equipment malfunctions
- Oversee the maintenance of mechanical equipment on site
- Ensure work is completed on time, in line with schedules, codes, designs, and standards
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration mechanical systems, including compressors, condensers, expansion devices (such as thermostatic expansion valves or capillary tubes), and evaporators
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections and testing for on-site activities in accordance with inspection and test plans, checklists, and safe work method statements, ensuring results are recorded
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current codes, standards, operation and maintenance manuals, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure all processes are executed by qualified tradespeople in accordance with approved procedures and safe work method statements
- Exposure to industrial environments, including electrical work, heights, and moving equipment
- Requires mobility, ability to work in confined spaces, and lift up to 25 kg
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in refrigeration, HVAC, or similar industrial systems
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the mechanical trade
- Ability to read approved-for-construction drawings
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and regulations
- Understanding of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge of mechanical applications in industrial systems
- Skilled in installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical system equipment and components
- Ability to estimate time and material requirements for assigned projects
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
